Anna Taratiel (Barcelona, 1982) first set foot in the art world through graffiti under the pseudonym OVNI. She studied graphic design at the Vapor University in Terrassa (Spain), and has a degree in mural painting techniques from the Art Academy of Barcelona.
What we can see in her work is the use of internal landscapes that represent metaphorical reflections of her surroundings, expressed through geometric abstraction. By carefully choosing a composition of space and colour (both conceptually and technically), her artworks arouse emotions and heighten the perception of the viewer. They are mental representations that take on a material life. It is up to the viewer to find their own way in her world of structure, pattern and variation, and the boundary between the two- and three-dimensional.
