Wild Drawing

Biography

Wild Drawing, also known as WD is a very well-known street artist, born in Bali, Indonesia, who studied art and graduated in both Fine and Applied Arts. He began his career as an urban artist in the 2000s and since then spends most of his time painting on the streets around the world or working in his workshop. WD has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows and graffiti/street art festivals, in Asia, Europe and America.

You can discover his artwork in many street art and graffiti books such as those published by Éditions Alternatives, Thames & Hudson... His style is unique and easily recognisable. It probably comes from his East-West cultural background. He likes very large walls where he creates monumental works of art with spray paint and roller brush. WD always interacts with the place, the environment, the buildings and architecture where he works. He will always use different elements that exist in the environment to create harmony between the location and the artwork.
He uses a realistic technique, sometimes even hyper-realistic, often anamorphic, strongly influenced by his cultural background and passions such as comics and graphic novels, social phenomena interests and lifestyle, art or nature.

What he likes about street art is the freedom of artistic expression. And also, that street art is a great way to communicate with everyone everywhere.
