Street art and murals are now an integral part of our living environment. This makes art accessible so that everyone can enjoy more colour and creativity. As of today, the UC Leuven-Limburg campus in Diepenbeek is also showing off a gigantic work of art in their courtyard. The mural , Bright Minds, by the street art organisation Treepack, brings students together and inspires them to get the best out of themselves.

The Diepenbeek campus of UCLL University College has been given a total makeover in recent years. A new, central area for more than 4,000 students and staff members has been built. With these renovations, the university college aims to create a real 'living campus'. A place where students and staff, but also outsiders, can meet. A living campus is more than a place to learn and work. It is a contemporary, vibrant and stimulating environment that is accessible to everyone, where everyone can be themselves and where connection and participation are central.

For precisely these reasons, the college called on the expertise of Treepack, a street art organisation with roots in Limburg. The professional artists worked out three designs for the inner courtyard of the campus. Naturally, the theme was one of encounter, development and solidarity. After a participatory vote in which all students and staff of the campus could express their opinions about the three designs, the artwork Bright Minds was created. "The artwork is a surreal, enlightening world that opens up on the facades of the campus. In a way, it makes viewers dream and long for a sense of 'the sky is the limit'. Anything is possible as long as you strive for your biggest dreams, the world is our canvas!" Tells the artists of Treepack.

"The Bright Minds mural perfectly reflects the vision that we want to radiate with our renewed campus: an inspiring meeting place where authentic, innovative and creative Minds feel at home and connect with each other." Says Marjan Libbrecht, head of the campus of UC Leuven-Limburg in Diepenbeek.

Although the murals are located in the campus, former students, visitors and anyone with a heart for art are welcome to admire the creations and be inspired. The campus opens its arms to those who contribute to a central meeting place where the innovative spirit of students is central.
