A dream come true for Hoeselt. The one-sided wall on 't Fabrieksplein was transformed into a miraculous work of art. The first large mural in Hoeselt which, because of its surrealistic content, forms a new, creative and inspiring world for young people.
In Hoeselt, 't Fabriek is the place where young people can come together under a wide range of activities. In addition, it is a place to socialize while enjoying a delicious drink. Everyone is welcome. There is a lot of collaboration with regional talents and organizations with a focus on co-creation. Also, the collaboration with Treepack arose to give the outside wall a nice paint job.
The design could only exist in another time or dimension, yet it looks familiar somewhere. On the blue-painted wall flaunts half a man's head on which stands a weightlifter. The eyeballs, pushed up forcefully, stare peculiarly into the distance. This peculiar gaze excites one to look at the world differently. The three round circles floating around the whole symbolize the acquisition of fresh knowledge. The whole picture is framed by various brown flowers, which help to create a nostalgic feeling.
In addition to its beautiful appearance, this artwork is especially open to self-reflection. The surrealistic approach creates its own reality. The power of imagination is hereby taken to a higher level. Combining different elements is not only an artistic approach, but also a new way of thinking. Exactly this stimulates the Hoeselt youth to come up with their own ideas. Diving into the thinking world of the seemingly crazy artist, everyone is challenged to push their own creative boundaries.
From now on, young people at 't Fabriek in Hoeselt with a view of this mural can let their imagination run wild, on to a new and diverse future.
