Together with local artist Nihan Yilmaz, we went to the Limburg municipality of Maasmechelen to transform the basketball court with an impressive floor painting.
From dull square to hotspot
Sport is healthy, but teamplay is even more important! During this project, participation was key, and we worked with local artist Nihan Yilmaz. We met Nihan during one of our Tour Elentrik editions in Maasmechelen, where we playfully painted utility boxes.
After this successful project, we soon realised that Nihan had more up his sleeve, and we enlisted him and other Treepack artists to present designs to the residents of Maasmechelen. The design of our local that you see here was the clear winner!
In no time, this dull square was transformed into a hotspot for our new generation. And it did not stop there. This unusual activity lured the local residents out of their cages to have a chat with the artists and take the rollers in their own hands!
In short: it's alive!
