As part of their 100th anniversary, the Sint-Jozefkliniek in Izegem is unveiling an impressive mural created by Leuven-based street art collective Treepack. This artwork of about 50 square meters reflects the hospital's core values and offers a visual representation of their vision for the future of healthcare.
The Saint Joseph Clinic, founded in 1924, has been an important pillar in the health care of Izegem and its surroundings for a century. The hospital is known for its people-oriented care, close to the patient, and its Christian values, which pay particular attention to ethical aspects within healthcare. For this special occasion, the management engaged the artist collective Treepack to transform the facade of the hospital with a custom design that perfectly reflects the mission and vision of the clinic.
The design, titled "Embrace," depicts an intimate hug between a parental couple, with a child in the middle looking up hopefully, a symbol of the future. The positions and different expressions of the characters' eyes, ears and mouths are carefully chosen to create a balanced sense of happiness and connection. The painting captures the essence of the care St. Joseph Clinic provides: personalized, quality, safe and warm care for each patient. The colors blue and magenta pink create a vivid contrast to the detailed black and white drawing, which subtly incorporates the clinic's logo.
