The famous painted electricity boxes are now also finding their way to Rotselaar.
The artists of Treepack and five external professional street artists went to work to provide 9 electricity cabinets and one large cabin with a new colorful coat. In the spring of 2022, the cabinets were selected and the theme was determined in consultation with the municipality of Rotselaar. Works of art that merge into the environment was the approach for this edition.
A conscious choice was made to subtly incorporate the cabinets into their surroundings. In this way, the culture department of the municipality of Rotselaar wants to bring the inhabitants into contact with the neighborhood and with each other.
The artworks can be admired in Werchter-Centrum along the church and opposite GBS De Kameleon, in Rotselaar-Centrum next to the church and next to the administrative center, in Heikant on Pastoor Van den Broeckplein and in Regastraat and in Wezemaal on Wezemaalplein, in Kerkstraat and at the intersection between Steenweg op Nieuwrode and Beninksstraat.
