In Zele, ten dull, grey electricity boxes have been transformed into colourful gems. Each of the boxes tells a unique story on the theme of 'oxygen'. A very broad theme in which the local artists could fully use their own imagination.
A tour full of oxygen
Electrical boxes are a necessity in the public domain, but often they pollute the street scene, attract vandalism or are an eyesore. Tour Elentrik was therefore created to transform these ugly objects into a canvas for local and professional talent.
The municipality of Zele chose to work around the theme of 'oxygen', which is very appropriate for these bizarre times. The Tour Elentrik route runs along various shops in Zele. In this way, the municipality gives cyclists and walkers the opportunity to pay them a visit when they are on the road. In these times, a nice alternative for a trip outside!
