2023 is another new year for Scherpenheuvel to expand with inspiring street art. In recent years, the Leuven artist collective Treepack, residents and the local government have worked together several times to realize murals in the city. GC den egger joins in and dares to take a risk. The performances they offer are top quality, in addition they come up with an innovative offer by releasing their side wall for an artistic layer of paint.
After a lot of painting, Scherpenheuvel has not yet run out of the power of street art. The first painting, the well-known fox on party hall concordia, was created by local artist Tuzq, After this, the canvas has continued to open up over the years from electricity boxes to colorful side walls. Thanks to the help of Treepack, artists of various origins were involved. Last year, even Spanish artist Zesar Bahamonte was given the honor of sharing his art in Belgium. This year, Alain Welter is the lucky one to take the place by storm.
Alain gives color to what he can find and now he has the exterior wall of den egger in front of him. Here he brings Scherpenheuvel the work "Street Life. His well-known alter ego, the mouse, is at the center of the design. It looks as if the musical mouse could walk right onto the stage. He carries a whole backpack of musical instruments. The music releases feelings and emotions in a pleasing way. Three robins fly out happily. These whistlers take you on a journey, floating in another universe where your head is in the clouds.
'Street Life' is an everyday story that can be told over and over again. It happens to all of us while we play music or listen to it. A golden addition that joins the already existing open-air art trail through Scherpenheuvel. If you come across the mural on the trail, peace and joy is guaranteed.
