WHAT'S HAPPENING?
This was the third edition of TIZARTE, on 't Eilandje in Antwerp.
In the coming years, this neighbourhood will be completely upgraded. Some buildings will be demolished or redeveloped, while others will remain in place to highlight their historical value for the city of Antwerp.
Artists were invited to cover the buildings with street art, and more will be done in the coming years to emphasise even more the temporary aspect of this art form.
More info at www.partofantwerp.be or take a guided street art tour via the Street Art Cities app (available on Android and iOS) to see last years artwork.
WHO IS WHO?
Tizarte Street Art Parcours was made possible by:
...and all the participating creatives, artists, designers and so much more!
The opening on 31 August was one to remember. Many artists and family members came by for a drink and some speeches. Later (around 6 a.m.) we returned home.
We had a lot of things to do. Or rather, we had a lot of things to make a hand with.
Check the photos below! In the theme TRASH ART, FeoFlip made a number of installations with literally everything he found on the street and in the riverbed. You'd be surprised how much plastic waste that was.
We also hired the famous local artist Larsen Bervoets for a double mural with Airlite, an air purifying paint. You can find it at Kattendijkdok Oostkaai 22.
This edition of Tizarte had a slightly different approach with installations, trash art and new partnerships as central themes. Without the help of the experienced Piazza team, the wonderful Stormkop team and all the other helping hands, none of this would have been possible.
